Since then their oracle text has been updated to include "defender," walls are just a creature type that always have the text "defender." Just because it shares the type doesn't mean it shares the abilities. So yes, changelings can attack. Web"walls can't attack" used to be in the rules. It was removed from the rules, all the old walls were errataed to have it, all the new ones that aren't changeling also have defender.
